Today was a monumental day in the history of the Hopkinsville Rotary Club. Not only do we raise money for our Christian County students to be able to go to college through our Rotary Scholars Program, in partnership with Hopkinsville Community College, to go to school two years free of charge, and have supplied countless loans and other scholarships throughout the years, but today we have supplied the funding for our Christian County Juvenile Drug Court to survive and thrive. Our mission is to help Christian County students be successful. These students need our assistance to provide layers to ensure a pathway of stability and success. It's a pleasure for the Hopkinsville Rotary Club to partner with such a purpose driven organization for our students.
Congrats Rotary Auction chair Chris Gilkey. Every energy bus has to have a driver. You led the team and drove the bus! Great work leading our club and community to raise $332,000 in the 2017 Rotary Auction. You demonstrated Service Above Self. Well done sir! Now get some rest.
Huge thanks to our community for showing up and helping us surpass our #RotaryAuction goal! If you bought an item, donated an item, contributed to the Hour Club, gave to the Goat Club, baked a sweet, ate in our diner, or volunteered your time or services to our cause, you have shown that you believe #EducationIsTimeless! I am sure there will be more words of thanks from Chairman Chris Gilkey to come, but here are the early details!
It's the last night of the Rotary Auction! Come down to the Memorial Building or tune in on WHOP, www.hopkinsvillerotary.com, or Spectrum cable channel 12 to watch live. Call 270-885-7500 and place your bid!
